Having a great ritual/s will help set the tone for your day and will bring joy to your daily routine.

1.  Plan Something To Look Forward Too

Get up and watch the sunrise, go for a morning swim, get a good book to read, a podcast to listen to or put a new album on your phone to enjoy on your way to work.  Meet a friend for lunch, or savour your coffee or favourite hot drink.

Looking forward to and imagining a happy event will most likely set your mood into joyful anticipation.

2. Manage Your Mood

Wake up on the right side of bed by taking a moment to manage your mood and to be mindful.

If you find yourself throughout the day getting annoyed, upset or anxious, stop and take note of what is happening, if you can fix the issue then work it out, if not, leave it behind and move on.  Don’t let it ruin your day!

3. Eat Breakfast

This is an obvious one, and one of my most joyful rituals of the day.

If you have a delicious breakfast to look forward to each morning it is one way to start your day the right way.  Plus eating a good, nutritious meal will improve your mood and your ability to focus.

Also knowing you have a delicious planned meal ready to go will get you up and moving, and getting it ready the night before will cause less stress and panic in the morning.

My easy go to breakfasts are pre-boiled eggs with avocado and fermented vegetable, homemade nut loaf with cashew cheese or leftovers from the night before all served with a delicious cup of bone broth.

4. Do Something You Don’t Like

Dealing with something you don’t want to first thing in the morning gets it out of the way and you can get on with your day feeling great that you've dealt with it so early.

5. Give Thanks

Send a message of thanks to a loved one, a workmate or to whoever you like for anything you like.

Write an email of praise or thanks before they start their day which will not only contribute to your happiness but theirs too, and build a stronger relationship.

Or you could show your appreciation and love by giving your partner and/or kids a kiss goodbye and hello every day.

What about giving someone a hug, who doesn't love a good hug anytime of the day.
